Welcome to Summerhill, Hartlepool

Summerhill is a unique Country Park. Set on the western edge of Hartlepool, the 100-acre site has been transformed from low-grade farmland into a Local Nature Reserve that is also an outdoor sports centre.

At Summerhill you can enjoy many of our facilities free of charge, use us as a venue for an event or take part in one of our organised activities.

Directions
From the North
Turn off the A19 to Hartlepool on the A179. Turn right at the first roundabout (Hart roundabout). Follow this road for about 1 3/4 miles going across 2 roundabouts and turn right at the traffic lights onto Serpentine Road. Continue along this road for about 1mile until you see Summerhill Lane on your right (marked by 2 stone pillars). Turn right along Summerhill Lane - the Visitor Centre is at the end of this road over the roundabout.
From the South
Turn off the A19 onto the A689 into Hartlepool. At the third set of traffic lights turn left onto Truro Drive. Contuinue to the traffic lights at the T junction and turn right onto Catcote Road. Continue for approximately 1 1/2 miles and turn left onto Summerhill Lane. The Visitor Centre is at the end of this road over the roundabout.

In both cases look out for the brown tourist signs to Summerhill once you are off the A19.
By Bus
Unfortunately Summerhill is not connected by a regular bus service.
By Bike
Summerhill is at the western end of the Burn Valley cycleway leading from the centre of Hartlepool and the national cycle network coastal route. The Visitor Centre has bike locking facilities.
